1. The Core Principle: Zero Image Uploads
At Piksel, your privacy is our foundational architecture. Unlike traditional online converters, Piksel performs all image compression, format conversion, metadata stripping, and resizing entirely in your web browser utilizing the modern HTML5 Canvas API and Web Workers.
🔒 Your images, photos, and graphic files are NEVER transmitted to, stored on, or analyzed by our backend servers.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to operate user accounts and maintain billing:
- Account Credentials: If you register, we store your email address, name (optional), and an encrypted password hash created using standard Argon2/Bcrypt. We never store plaintext passwords.
- Billing Information: Payments are processed via PCI-DSS compliant third-party providers (such as Stripe). We store only transaction identifiers and subscription expiration dates; we never collect or store full credit card numbers.
- Anonymous Aggregate Usage: We may record aggregate performance telemetry (such as total byte savings or count of optimized images) to display system metrics. This telemetry contains no personal media or recognizable metadata.
3. Cookies and Local Storage
We use strictly necessary session cookies (secured with HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, and HTTPS Secure flags) to keep you logged in and preserve your workspace preferences.
4. Third-Party Advertising (Google AdSense)
For non-paying visitors on the Free starter tier, we may display third-party advertisements via Google AdSense. Google and its certified advertising partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.
5. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
